Terms of Service

Last updated: November 02, 2026 · Version 2.0

Web App SaaS License

Preamble & Purpose of the Service

These Terms of Service (hereinafter "Terms") govern access to and use of the CivilSoftLab online platform and structural engineering web application suite (available at https://civilsoftlab.com). By creating an account, acquiring a license, or opening our web applications (RPA Modules, Shear Walls, Seismic Analysis, Beams, Footings, etc.), the user unconditionally agrees to all of these terms.

1 User Accounts, Licenses & Fair Start Policy

License Timer: Starts on First WebApp Launch

Because we deeply respect our users and their investment, your license duration (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, etc.) does NOT start on the date of purchase or when your receipt is approved. The countdown begins strictly on the day and minute you open the web application for the first time in your browser workspace. If your engineering project only starts in a few days or weeks, you do not lose a single day of your subscription.

  • Access Credentials: Each user is solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their credentials. Unauthorized sharing or misuse of access may result in immediate account suspension.
  • One-Time & Free Trial Packs: Offers designated as discovery or free trial packs are strictly limited to one allocation per user and engineering organization. Deleting and re-registering an account does not reset eligibility for these promotional offers.

2. Professional Responsibility, Inspection Bodies (CTC) & Collaborative Corrections

Decision-Support Tool: CivilSoftLab web applications are automated calculation and dimensioning aids for seismic and reinforced concrete engineering (compliant with RPA 99/v2003, RPA 2024, CBA 93, BAEL 91, and Eurocodes). They are intended exclusively for certified engineers and qualified design offices.

Mandatory Final Verification (CTC & State Inspection Bodies): The project engineer or design firm retains full, exclusive technical and legal responsibility for model assumptions, cross-section sizing, conformity with official inspection bodies (notably CTC in Algeria or municipal building authorities), and the final sign-off on calculation reports and rebar schedules before construction begins.

Continuous Improvement & Evidence-Based Reporting

If an engineer detects any potential normative discrepancy, formula inconsistency, or typo in any application, they are warmly encouraged to report it directly to our engineering support (via Telegram or WhatsApp) with supporting references or technical proof. Our team reviews and deploys fixes continuously for the benefit of the entire engineering community.

3 Orders, Pricing & Payment Methods

License subscriptions are currently processed primarily in Algerian Dinars (DZD) via payment proof submission (bank wire transfer, CCP transfer, or BaridiMob receipt).

Automated payment gateways and additional international currencies are actively being integrated (coming soon).

All orders undergo manual verification of the uploaded receipt by our administration team before activation. Invoices and transaction history remain accessible at all times in your user dashboard.

4 Cancellation & Manual Refund Policy

1. Cancellation before first launch (1-Month Window): If you have purchased a license but have never opened or activated the web application, you benefit from a generous window of 1 month (30 days) from your payment date to contact our support team. Upon verifying that the license was never launched, we will manually issue a refund of the paid amount, minus a 5% handling and transaction fee (via bank transfer or BaridiMob/CCP).

2. After first web app launch: Once the web application has been opened in your browser and engineering calculation modules have been accessed, the digital service is considered actively delivered and consumed. Therefore, activated licenses are generally non-refundable.

3. Major or exceptional circumstances: If you face a major exceptional situation, please discuss it with our support team. CivilSoftLab retains the sole and absolute discretionary right to assess the request and decide upon approval or refusal, with or without a refund (partial or full refund, commercial credit, or outright refusal at CivilSoftLab's sole discretion).

4. Administrative & Transaction Fee Deduction (5%): In accordance with industry standards for digital services and financial processing, any approved refund (whether issued during the 1-month pre-activation period or granted under exceptional circumstances) will be subject to a flat deduction of 5% of the total amount paid. This deduction covers non-recoverable administrative handling, account processing costs, and financial transaction/banking fees (BaridiMob, CCP, or interbank transfer commissions).

5 Third-Party Services (Google Drive & Telegram)

CivilSoftLab allows optional integration with third-party tools:

  • Google Drive: Engineering project archives and PDF reports can be stored directly into your personal Google Drive account under the restricted scope drive.file. You remain the sole owner of your files and can disconnect at any time.
  • Telegram Bot: Receive instant real-time notifications for order status and technical updates.

6 Desktop Application & Local Connector (CivilSoftLab Connector)

6.1 Nature & Companion Role: The "CivilSoftLab Connector" desktop application is a free companion client utility provided to registered CivilSoftLab users. It facilitates bidirectional data transfer and geometric/structural interoperability between local engineering software installed on the user's computer (Autodesk Revit®, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis®, CSI ETABS®, CSI SAP2000®) and CivilSoftLab cloud calculation modules.

6.2 Web Dependency & EULA Terms: The Connector is not a standalone calculation engine. It relies strictly upon the web services of civilsoftlab.com and requires an active user session. Installing and using the Connector constitutes agreement to its bundled End User License Agreement (EULA) and these Terms of Service.

6.3 Local Execution & Communication Security: The Connector runs on the user's machine and communicates solely via local loopback (127.0.0.1:8081) using HMAC-authenticated security tokens. Tampering with, intercepting, or bypassing this communication channel is strictly prohibited.

6.4 Responsibility for Local Project Files: CivilSoftLab bears no liability for COM/API version incompatibilities, third-party software crashes, or corruption of local project models (.rtd, .edb, .sdb, .rvt). Structural engineers must maintain verified backup copies of their local models before initiating data sync or extraction.

6.5 Reverse Engineering Prohibition: You may not decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, decrypt, modify, or create derivative works from the Connector application, its executable binaries, or its dynamic-link libraries (.dll).

7 Norms Consultation & Community Spaces

CivilSoftLab offers technical norm reference modules and professional exchange spaces. Users agree to uphold professional courtesy and respect intellectual property rights. CivilSoftLab reserves the right to moderate non-compliant user contributions.

8 Intellectual Property & Trademark Independence

All algorithms, web code, software designs, and CivilSoftLab trademarks remain the exclusive property of their publisher.

Mentioned trademarks (Robot Structural Analysis, Revit, AutoCAD, ETABS, SAP2000, Google, Telegram) belong to their respective owners (Autodesk Inc., Computers and Structures Inc.). CivilSoftLab is an independent engineering software publisher.

9 Hosting in Algeria & Regulatory Compliance (Law 18-05 & Law 18-07)

Electronic Commerce Compliance (Law No. 18-05 of May 10, 2018): The civilsoftlab.com platform operates in full accordance with Algerian e-commerce legislation. In strict compliance with Article 6 of Law No. 18-05 and the regulatory prerequisites established by GIE Monétique and SATIM for electronic payment integration in Algeria (CIB and Edahabia cards), the website and its databases are hosted locally in Algeria on the infrastructure of authorized host Octinium (webservices.dz), ensuring national resident servers and local IP allocation.

Personal Data Protection (Law No. 18-07 of June 10, 2018): All data processing adheres to Algerian Law 18-07 under the regulatory oversight of the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (ANPDP). Local Algerian hosting guarantees data sovereignty and prevents unauthorized international data transfers.
